Summerpalooza at San Diego
Hi everyone. I haven't been posting as much as I was suggesting to do so I apologize. I am sorry for being a hypocrite. It's my fault for making an impossible promise online. Well, I've been off to places this summer and this time it was to San Diego. This is old news since I came back on August 4th. It took me long to write about it though due to my laziness.
Anyways, I'll describe this trip as shortly as possible for you guys. First of all is that Summerpalooza is a trip sponsor by PREP (after school program). To be able to attend Summerpalooza, I had to fill out an application which is a $1,000 scholarship just for this trip. I got accepted but sadly the Queen did not. She was utterly upset when I went and came back.
This trip is 4 days and 3 nights at the University of San Diego. Also, all food was provided thus it was not necessary to bring any money.
Campus:
The campus is on a hill which is fabulous since the breeze past through. I also love the scenery. In addition, Sea World is close to this college. What is there to dislike for "some" people is that it is a religious school. It has churches and mass.
Dorm:
I dorm with this girl. She's a music loving person and I learned that she favors rap which apparently I don't favor as much as she does. The room was good and it had nice drawers and desks. The showers were good to use, but I personally dislike how I have to wear sandals while taking showers. It feels weird and uncommon to me. It kind of gross me out. One thing that scared the heck out of me is that our tour guide told us that the dorms are haunted by a nun. :<
Group:
At Summerpalooza, all girls were grouped together. The group contained at least 6-10 girls. I have to say that my group was alright. I enjoy my group fairly enough except that some girls were not outgoing. If someone wasn't going to be outgoing, chances are that the group will be quiet.
Activities:
All groups have to do yoga, tae kwon do, and a personality drawing. In addition, there were group activities such as the relay race, skit, and discussion activities.
Bullying:
There was a day where we discuss about bullying since it was discovered by the PREP that a girl was bullied. It was a serious matter. Everyone talk about their experience with bullying. I kept my mouth shut.
Role Model:
The day of tears for many girls except me. Everyone cried when they talk about their role model and I did not shed any tears. I learned not to cry too much since my parents always taunt me when I cry. Also, I was more nervous to speak so crying was out of question.
Food:
Everyday I had greasy food since that was what the cafeteria served. I had burgers, fries, omelet, nasty chinese food, pasta, hotdog, etc. All these food were free of charge. In addition, when I came home I even bought a muffin, a doughnut, a few drinks, and tons of gum. Why? Free of charge. lol
--------------------------------------------------
In conclusion, it was a very fun trip and it was nice to be away from my family. Besides, I learned a lot from many girls during this trip. I also met some nice girls as well.
Funny thing though is that when I came home, Toby has been thoroughly shaved. That scared the heck out of me. He looks freaky.
